VINBRAIN HOSTED AN UNPRECEDENTED TALK OF TWO WORLD RENOWNED EXECUTIVE LEADERS IN MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY AND R&D
It has been an eventful week for VinBrain, as we welcome two world-renowed executives in R&D and medical technology: Dr. YongDong Wang, graduate from the
University of California, with decades of experience in research and development sector, and Dr.ย Gregory Mooreย from Massachusetts Institute of Technology,
a clinical informatician, radiologist and neurologist, visiting and giving an inspirational talk to VinBrain's staff and personnel.

ย

In addition to the main discussion surrounding HealthTech and the application of AI in medical care, our distinguished guests had a lively exchange about the hottest topic in technology today - how AI is changing the world. The two Doctors were both very impressed by ChatGPT, the language chatbot that has been taking the world by storm recently. ChatGPT is also the latest technology that VinBrain has combined with AI computer vision models to form a more effective and comprehensive solution, affecting 700 million people in Southeast Asia. Language comprehension capabilities enables key information to be accurately identified in patient medical reports, enabling more accurate and timely medical diagnoses based on multi-modal AI models while eliminating barriers to medical terminology.ย

Predicting the future of AI, Dr. Moore shared a quote from billionaire Bill Gates - founder of Microsoft: "We always overestimate the change that will occur in the next two years and underestimate the change that will occur in the next ten". He believes that the presence of ChatGPT is the beginning of a new era, when AI will progress rapidly and take root in life exponentially. He also predicts that everyone will soon have their own AI assistant to assist them in their daily activities or tasks.

Curiosity is the driving force and motivation for the development of further AI innovation, he emphasized. He encouraged all VinBrain employees to continuously ask questions and take a multidisciplinary approach to solving problems and building solutions, "combining areas of non-expertise with areas of specialized focus", to deeply empathize and design solutions, even if there is nothing binding or relevant in the present, to serve the future. โ€œAlways carry your curiosity with you โ€“ I know it sounds โ€œclicheฬโ€ to you,โ€ he laughed, โ€œbut there is no such thing as a stupid question, and asking questions will help you discover the right way to Collaborate to find a better path to move forward faster.โ€

Dr. YongDong Wang agrees with Dr. Moore's views on the future of AI. He noted that with the advancement of AI, this tool is open to everyone. However, he also frankly admitted that opportunities come with challenges: "In the US and China there have been concerns that AI could be used for bad purposes." Despite these concerns, he believes that we all have the intelligence to control and transform technology to serve the good of humanity and minimize negative impacts.

The two leaders believe in the potential and power of medical technology solutions designed and developed by VinBrain. The two agreed that VinBrain has taken the lead and developed rapidly in a short time, which is a rare case globally. Dr. Moore and Dr. Wang commended VinBrain for its contributions to society and for bringing to market a product that brings hope and joy to patients globally by helping them access medical care easier.

The visit of top leaders and colleagues from the technology and medical fields was an exciting and unique experience for all VinBrain employees. Although the time was limited, the VinBrain team from both sides - Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City - were interested and took advantage of learning from their guests through many profound questions. The one-of-a-kind talk ignited and spurred the birth of AI-based initiatives.
