On October 13, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health Nguyen Van Vinh Chau signed a document to send to public hospitals, COVID-19 hospitals, health centers of Thu Duc city regarding the registration of applying AI in COVID-19 screening and treatment.
Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health stated that, following the direction of the Ministry of Health in Official Letter 583 on the implementation, research, and application of artificial intelligence in COVID-19 screening, the Department has allowed a number of hospitals to practice AI in the early detection of F1 with early risk to F0 and screening of underlying disease with F1s.
According to the Department of Health, the initial implementation of the project has brought positive and meaningful results in supporting and helping to predict the situation of SARS-CoV-2 infection and patients with COVID-19.
When taking routine X-ray tests during COVID-19 treatment time in the unit, the application of artificial intelligence will assist in predicting the patient's condition is better or worse based on the localization of the progression on the lungs.
