Hanoi, September 17, 2024 – VinBrain, a leading AI healthcare startup funded by Vingroup, continues to strengthen its foothold in Vietnam through new partnerships with Medlatec and Vikomed. Building on the success of collaborations with top-tier hospitals such as 108 Military Central Hospital, Hue Central Hospital, Vietnam National Lung Hospital, Haiphong Lung Hospital, and the University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City,... VinBrain is rapidly expanding its customer network, bringing the DrAid™ AI solution closer to more patients.

The DrAid™ platform, developed by VinBrain since 2019, harnesses AI and Generative AI (GenAI) technology to significantly support clinical diagnostic methods by processing various types of medical images, including X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs.

In Q3 2024, VinBrain has marked significant milestones by securing agreements with Medlatec, one of Vietnam's largest private healthcare systems, and Vikomed, the only X-ray manufacturer in Vietnam. Through these partnerships, DrAid™ will be rolled out across Medlatec’s extensive network of hospitals and clinics and integrated into Vikomed’s advanced medical devices nationwide. This collaboration not only enhances patient access to cutting-edge AI technology but also contributes to the overall advancement of Vietnam’s healthcare sector.

Mr. Jeon Jin-Ho, General Director of Vikomed, stated, “As a traditional X-ray manufacturer, Vikomed’s core identity remains rooted in hardware production. Through our collaboration, we aim to integrate AI into our hardware devices, making our combined products more accessible to patients and healthcare professionals not only in Vietnam but also globally. Our shared goal is to save lives and improve healthcare quality.”

After being rolled out in one of the biggest public hospitals and leading private healthcare systems in Vietnam, VinBrain's DrAid™ has brought significant improvements to the work of doctors and medical staff. Key improvements include:

  •  The time required to standardize the hospital's input data was dramatically reduced from 9.48 years to just 9 months and 20 days.Medical report generation was cut from 4-5 minutes to 40-60 seconds.
  • Patient record retrieval time is shortened from 15 minutes to 10 seconds.
  • The query and response time for PET/CT scan results has been drastically reduced from 5-10 minutes to just 10 seconds, significantly enhancing the patient experience

"By applying speech-to-text technology for report creation, we can first save resources by eliminating the need for a typist. Second, radiologists can immediately document their findings through the software's report, allowing them to check results instantly and make conclusions on the spot" shared Dr. Mai Huy Thong from the Nuclear Medicine Department of 108 Hospital.

At the 25th Annual Scientific Conference of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine (VSRNM 2024), the acceleration of AI and GenAI applications in medical imaging garnered significant attention from healthcare experts. In his presentation, Mr. Steven Truong, Founder and CEO of VinBrain, emphasized the crucial role of AI in enhancing the quality of diagnosis and treatment.

The conference also featured a dedicated session titled “Solutions to Accelerate the Application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Healthcare,” co-hosted by the Da Nang  People's Committee, the Vietnam Society of Radiology & Nuclear Medicine, and VinBrain. This session, which included leading experts from both domestic and international, highlighted a shared consensus on the urgent need to advance AI research and applications in healthcare. The goal is to meet the growing demands of patients and elevate the status of Vietnam's healthcare sector.

In the discussion, the leading expert in healthcare and AI in the United States, Professor Langlotz, Director of the AIMI Center at Stanford University and President of RSNA, noted, "AI is revolutionizing radiology by strengthening the human-machine partnership. It’s about leveraging the strengths of both human cognition and AI to enhance efficiency without compromising accuracy"

This December, VinBrain will again participate in the RSNA 2024 (Radiological Society of North America), a premier global event in medical imaging held in Chicago, USA. As Vietnam's sole representative, VinBrain will showcase its cutting-edge AI solutions, solidifying the country's position on the global medical technology stage. VinBrain's continuous presence at RSNA for the second consecutive year not only highlights its technological prowess but also unlocks business opportunities and market expansion in the United States, following its contract with Nutex Health in 2023.
