The "shuttles" in the center of the epidemic
That was the time Vinbrain was developing DrAid - a project to support doctors diagnose and treat F0 patients based on X-ray images.
According to calculations, to meet the needs of model development and practical implementation, VinBrain needed to collect at least 10,000 chest X-ray images of patients who are positive for SAR-CoV-2.
From May - July, 2021, 4 members of DrAid Software Research and Development had to constantly present at the concentrated isolation areas of Bac Giang, Ha Tinh, and Ho Chi Minh; race against thousands of F0 every day to directly take X-rays of COVID-19 patients.
The outbreak of the disease was extremely intense. The sooner the product is put into practical application, the less hard doctors will be. Therefore, even though not being medical staff or volunteers, the team still day by day rushed into the dangerous battlefield to complete a special project.
After two months, 11,000 X-quang images were collected from 26 concentrated isolation areas, 10 hospitals and COVID-19 emergency centers. On 23th July, 2021, the whole team burst with happiness when the hard work was paid off with the birth of the “child” DrAid for COVID-19.
DrAid - an effective SARS-CoV-2 virus "scanner"
Like a “scanner”, DrAid for COVID-19 helps hospitals and medical facilities proactively detect people suspected of being infected with COVID-19 through X-ray images in less than 5 seconds.
DrAid for COVID-19 also combines with PCR test in identifying COVID-19, improving accuracy, minimizing false negatives, support in assessing the patient's condition through the history of X-ray images for appropriate treatment.
Besides, DrAid for Covid-19 also helps doctors identify small lesions that are easy to miss, assess the extent of lung damage to provide effective treatment indications.
For the contribution, DrAid for COVID-19 was recently honored with the Gold Award in the Social Responsibility category at the ASEAN Awards on IT and Communication.
AIviCare - help F0 get the fastest access to doctors
AIviCare is the mobile application helping F0 get the fastest access to doctors anytime, anywhere; monitoring their disease progress continuously. The application also allows doctors to interact directly with patients through video calls to limit face-to-face contact.
AIviCare initially supported in taking care of tens of thousands of F0 in Binh Tan District and District 3, Ho Chi Minh City within just 8 weeks of piloting.
In the context that the medical industry is seriously overloaded, telehealth care to monitor, prevent infection and provide quality services to patients is an important solution that is concerned by the medical industry.
