After 26 years abroad, spending 13 years as the Director of Engineering and AI Innovation at Microsoft in the United States, Steven Truong returned to his homeland in 2019. He was motivated by personal experience, having cared for his elderly mother who suffered a stroke, which made him acutely aware of the challenges faced by patients and their families due to overcrowded hospitals.
In April 2019, Steven and 18 like-minded individuals came together to establish VinBrain. Their unwavering determination led them on a mission to alleviate patient suffering and relieve the overburdened healthcare workforce through advanced technologies. Their audacious aspiration was to build a HealthTech company where the core technology was developed by Vietnamese talent, breaking away from the conventional practice of importing solutions from overseas.
